Alien Prequel "Romulus" Gets Release Date

Movie to Hit Theaters August 16, 2024

Starring Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, Archie Renaux, and David Jonsson

The highly anticipated Alien prequel, "Romulus," has finally set a release date. The sci-fi horror-thriller, directed by Fede Álvarez, will hit theaters on August 16, 2024. The announcement was made in a mid-May press release by 20th Century Fox.

The film stars Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, Archie Renaux, and David Jonsson. Spaeny will play the role of Ellen Ripley's mother, Elizabeth Shaw, while Merced will portray a young Ripley. Renaux and Jonsson will play two of the crew members on the spaceship Covenant, which is sent to investigate a distress signal from a distant planet.

"Romulus" was originally scheduled to be released on Hulu, but was switched to a theatrical release shortly before filming commenced. The film has been in development for several years, and fans of the Alien franchise have been eagerly awaiting its release. The film is expected to explore the origins of the Xenomorph, the iconic creature from the Alien movies.
