Downloading and Logging In to the Alexa App
To begin setting up your Echo Dot, start by downloading the Amazon Alexa app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Once installed, open the app and log in using your Amazon account credentials.
Bluetooth Connectivity
For a more seamless setup experience, enable Bluetooth on your smartphone. This will allow the app to automatically detect and connect to your Echo Dot.
Initial Configuration
With the app open and Bluetooth enabled, follow these steps:
- Select "Devices" from the bottom menu.
- Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner.
- Select "Add Device" and choose "Amazon Echo" from the list of options.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
Note: For the Echo Dot 2nd Generation, you may need to enter the serial number or scan the QR code located on the bottom of the device.
